It Happened at a Book Signing Last Week

"There are no coincidences"...

A young woman said this at a book signing. She didn't know why she'd come into the book store but she was there.

I told her about my hippy-girl character in The Library Room, Loren; it's her name too.

I described the storyline, the research, and how it's about spiritual/religious stuff - life, love, truth, character, purpose, etc...  She says she's searching for that right now. Then she told me she's a widow. We had a tearful hug together.

Thank you, God, for Your guidance. You lead us to where we need to be when we're open to you.

A reality group vlog - PLEASE SHARE - I'm looking to create a diverse spiritual group of people to enjoy learning about each other's beliefs in a non-confrontational setting. Casting call:(volunteer position)

Looking to create a small group of 7 - 9 people to experience the interactive guide of The Library Room as a group, be recorded on video, to use parts of it in a commercial movie trailer. There will be no scripts to memorize - it will strictly be your opinions to questions as if you were in The Library Room yourself with the book characters, Loren, Rachel, Drew, Collin, Sarah, Jessica, and Amy.

Private message me if you'd like to partake in this adventure once a week for four weeks.

Each participant will be given a free copy of The Library Room AND Professor Finkel's Assignment (The Interactive Guide to The Library Room.)

The ideal goal is to have a diverse blend of different religions, different ages, different positive minded beliefs, so we may learn from each other in a non-confrontational environment.

If you are interested in participating in this project please private message me with:
1. your choice of location, Middlefield, Bainbridge, Mayfield, or Mentor,(ALL are NE OHIO)
2. what day of the week would work best for you,

FYI Background: The interactive guide mostly covers the religious beliefs of Judaism, and Christianity, with no right or wrong answers - HOWEVER, all beliefs are welcomed - there may be times where the material may feel slanted toward one or the other but then the next time it will be reversed. If you'd like to learn more about one or the other without feeling pressured into accepting one or the other please consider participating.

The events in their lives may feel very familiar to you too since it addresses areas of relationships, sex, alcohol, post-college depression, loss, prayer, and even spiritual warfare.

This novel will reveal new personal discoveries each time you read it.

The Glory of the Lord is Risen upon thee!

ARISE and SHINE for thy LIGHT is come and  GLORY of the LORD is RISEN upon THEE! Praise GOD! What a great way to greet each morning! Wake up and remind yourself our King God is awesome and His glory is upon us. Now, count the blessings He’s placed in your life.

Psalm 78 - Proverb on teaching our future generations.

Recently my Great-Aunt Hazel Gene celebrated her 100th birthday. It was quite a celebration I wished I could've attended. I loved looking at all the pictures of my cousins and the glow on her face. There was a picture taken of the entire group who were able to attend. My cousin Alice had made a comment about how the picture reminded her of Psalms 78:1-8. I read the words and agreed. Since, I do not have everyone's permission to use that photo, I'll use this one instead. However, thank you Cousin Alice for the inspiration. It truly is a perfect verse representing our family heritage.

Once you've done your research, you'll know in your heart. Don't depend upon people in high places to tell you. Know it for sure. Do you really know what you think you know?

Prayer and Faith

Why does God answer my prayers and not theirs? Is it a lottery which prayers are answered by God? Or is it all coincidence? Why does God make it seem random in choosing who's prayers are answered?

I think the above questions cover the spectrum of what passes through our minds as well as non-believers.

Our human nature tries to make sense of what's going on and sometimes it's easier to explain it by saying, “must be God,” or “part of God’s plan.”

I believe in the power of prayer as it has sustained me several times in my life.

I’m convinced my loud praying kept me from being killed by a rapist on November 14, 1986.  I’d prayed out loud the entire time for God to hold me in the palm of His hand. My assailant wasn’t able to kill me. He’d felt pressured into releasing me close to where he’d carjacked me in Beachwood. He’d asked me several times to stop praying. I’d refused. After all, what’d I have to lose at that point? I felt deep in my heart if I’d obeyed him, he’d have killed me.

“Where was your God while you were being raped?” I’ve been asked.

My answer, “my FAITH kept GOD with me that night. He’d cradled me in His palm so tight that I lived and flourished without a damaged mind. I’ve never experienced any hang-ups after that night with a knife to my neck. I’ve never experienced a flashback or nightmare about the incident. I’ve never feared getting lost in rough neighborhoods. And yet, I’m able to recall vivid details if needed (which came in handy a few years ago.)”

Why?

God proved to me that He’s greater than my real life nightmares. I’d learned that night my FAITH in God will overcome life’s horrible episodes.

“You psyched him out and that’s why he couldn’t kill you. It wasn’t really God.” Someone else once challenged me.

Uh-huh, okay, maybe… to a point, I suppose… On the other hand, I’d be giving myself, a 20 year old naïve country girl, too much credit to know to sit on the cap gun I’d kept on the passenger’s seat, to leave my gloves on to cover my engagement ring, to tell him he’d need to buy gas soon with a ¼ tank which kept him from driving us to a faraway place, and lastly when he’d released me, to run around the side of the building in a field so he wouldn’t run me over. God took over my mind that night.

My God hears our prayers and knows our needs.

He’d known what was going to happen and that I’d need to pray for His help. He'd left the choice up to me to pray or not. It was my choice to trust Him and believe He was there to help me.

Since then, God’s revealed Himself in different ways reinforcing my knowledge that He’s watching me, loves me, always with me, comes on time, and supplies my needs. I have many more examples to prove He’s real and listens.

Even so, I’ve known those whose prayers weren’t answered the same way as mine. Why?

I have FAITH God’s plans and lessons are different for everyone. I TRUST God’s planned future is perfect. It may not be the ending of our desires but, His is better in the long run.
